Fourteen miles below Ruedi where mysis shrimp grow trout to a size that looks like a misprint.
Translucency is the whole fly. A dead mysis is nearly invisible and the imitation should be too — dub it so thin you can see the hook shank through it.
Dead drift in the top few feet below the dam, on a long light leader. Almost no weight. Frying Pan River fish see a lot of flies, and the ones that keep working are the ones tied for the water rather than for the bin.
Every fly is tied by hand, one at a time, on the hook listed above. No two are identical and none of them came out of a machine.
