Cold, even water below Yellowtail Dam that feeds trout like a conveyor belt.
Split the tails properly wide — they are what holds the fly flat in the film, and a spinner that tips is a spinner that gets refused.
Into the spinner fall at first light. Fish the seam where the current gathers them, and expect to change tippet before you change flies. Bighorn River fish see a lot of flies, and the ones that keep working are the ones tied for the water rather than for the bin.
Every fly is tied by hand, one at a time, on the hook listed above. No two are identical and none of them came out of a machine.
